BRAYDEN Cotton reeled in the Furness Fishing Association Coarse Section Junior League crown after a raft of strong showings across the year.

Cotton produced consistent displays throughout the season in the Home and Finance-sponsored competition on section waters.

He finished with 54 points – double that of nearest challenger William Ireland, with Nicole Baker in third.

Baker ended the season well, taking victory on High Pond in the DALCS Trophy – the final event of the campaign.

The up and coming match angler fished a great match to take 3lb 7oz to the scales and ensure she collected the trophy, ahead of Cotton and Ireland. The organisers thanked Stewart Craig for sponsoring the event.

In the senior section, High Pond was the selected venue for the annual charity match. Its small fish fed well and some good catches were weighed in as the brilliant Lee Fallows led the field with 5lb 11oz on the scales.

In the Autumn League, Les davies tasted success in the Angling and Hiking Trophy on Burn Hole.

Showing age is no bar to ability, he fished a great match to weigh in with an impressive 10lb 6oz – almost four pounds more than his nearest rival.

Martin Winward took fourth match in the league, the Schneider Trophy, on the in-form Low Pond.

The venue's small carp fed in earnest and some good weights were recorded. The ever-dependable Winward weighed in with an impressive 19lb 4oz for victory.
