TWO-TIME North of England Amateur champion Adam Chapman is back in the England golf squad – and heading to Australia.

The Windermere ace defended his title at Pannal Golf Club in September after a frustrating year on the fairways.

His resurgence in form towards the end of the year means he is involved with the England set-up once more for the 2015/16 season – though he will start next year in Australia, after being chosen to take part in tour events there.

The Cumbrian ace will contest four tournaments Down Under in January and February.

He will start off in the Australian Master of the Amateurs Championship at Royal Melbourne Golf Club, before going on to the Australian Men’s Amateur at the Metropolitan and Kingswood Golf Clubs, Victoria.

After that, Chapman will test himself in the Lake Macquarie Amateur, at Belmont Golf Club, New South Wales, and the New South Wales Amateur, at Riverside Oaks and Lynwood Golf Clubs, which is played over six days in both a strokeplay and matchplay format.

Last year, Chapman rose into the top 100 of amateur golfers worldwide, but a tough 12 months have seen him fall to 631st.

He was named in the provisional Great Britain and Ireland squad for the Walker Cup, but missed out on final selection after his run of results.

However, towards the end of the season, as well as his success in the North of England, he also finished joint-11th in the European Amateur Championship in Slovakia, showing he had rediscovered something approaching his best form.

Chapman will now look to build on those displays in Australia and with the England team, for whom he was also picked last year.
