CARL Waters put team success before personal glory after helping Millom FC end the season in style.
Waters was in scintillating form in front of goal as the Hanna Field side completed their West Lancashire League Division Two campaign with a 5-2 hammering of champions Leyland.
The former Holker Old Boys and Barrow AFC' striker's four-goal haul saw him finish as the league's top goalscorer with 30 to his name.
The victory also meant Millom maintained their 100 per cent home record for 2017/18 with 18 wins.
But the most important thing as far as Waters is concerned is that Millom achieved their goal of promotion to Division One.
Player-manager Danny Pattinson's side finished second in the league, three points behind Leyland.
They can also celebrate a double, with promotion coming on the back of winning the Furness Senior Cup with a 1-0 win over fellow West Lancs Division Two side Walney Island at Holker Street.
“We won all all our games at home and we managed to beat Leyland which was good,” said Waters.
“It's nice to finish with a few goals and top of the league charts.
“But the main aim was promotion this year, which is what we got so it was a good season for us.”
