GEORGIA Stanway continued her impressive scoring record for England Under-19s, as they fell to a 2-1 defeat to USA.

The Barrow star netted from the penalty spot at St George’s Park as the Young Lionesses build up for next month’s European Championships in Northern Ireland.

The behind-closed-doors game was the first of two with the Stars and Stripes.

Stanway, who plays for Manchester City in the Women’s Super League, has netted in every game she has played for England Under-19s.

Her goal proved mere consolation after a Civana Kuhlmann spot-kick before the break and an Ashley Sanchez finish gave the USA the win.

Stanway scored a hat-trick on her under-19s debut against Italy in a 4-0 win in the La Manga tournament in Spain, and followed up by helping the Young Lionesses come through qualifying for the Euros.

The Young Lionesses head to Northern Ireland for the Euros between August 8 and 22.
