REAL SoSo Bad capped off a remarkable campaign by clinching the Pulse Monday League title for a second time with a dramatic 1-0 win over Blood, Sweat and Beers.

Both sides’ opening mini-pool victories against Cumbria Roofing set the stage for a winner-takes-all encounter. With the two finishing first and second in the regular season, it was a fitting finale.

A Joe Tindale thunderbolt eventually proved the difference, seeing SoSo Bad add the Monday crown to the Thursday and Sunday trophies they had already won in what has been a brilliant few weeks for Brad Jackson’s men.

Although SoSo Bad dominated the league campaign, the tournament format meant the three teams who had qualified just needed to top the pool to be crowned champions.

It was BSB who got off to the perfect start, blitzing a Cumbria Roofing outfit who, with the likes of Greg Fisher and Jordan Chubb in the line-up, were expected to cause problems.

But despite their underdog status, a man-of-the-match display from player-of-the-season Greg Galloway saw BSB cruise to a 7-2 win.

However, SoSo Bad went a few better when they faced off with Roofing, signalling their intentions by beating them 14-3, setting up a crunch clash in the final group game.

Early on it was the battle of the keepers, Zak Coward for BSB and Luke Duncalf for SoSo Bad pulling off numerous world-class saves to keep the score goalless at half-time.

With the way the keepers were playing, one goal was always going to be enough, and Tindale obliged with a thunderous left-footed strike into the bottom corner.

Although BSB pressed for an equaliser late on, SoSo Bad held on to secure a thoroughly deserved triumph.

In the Championship, Good Metal claimed their first success in the Pulse small-sided leagues, coming from behind to beat Holmewreckers 6-4.

Similar to the Premier Division, the destination of the title came down to the final game, Good Metal’s 10-2 victory over Four Nil Down in the first match firing an early warning.

Holmewreckers were made to work much harder as Four Nil Down were determined to show that defeat was a one off, fighting back from 4-1 down to give Holmewreckers a scare before they finally secured a 5-3 success.

Any thoughts Good Metal’s more commanding victory would have any impact were immediately put to bed, as Holmewreckers stormed into an early 2-0 lead.

From then on it was the Phil Edmonson show though, notching goal after goal to give Good Metal a 6-3 advantage.

A late goal from Bexley Bathie gave Holmewreckers hope, but that was as good as it got, Good Metal clinching the first of what they hope will be many pieces of silverware in the Pulse leagues.

Pulse are looking for teams to enter their new Monday League season, which starts on January 11.
