The first half was a drab affair with neither side making any attempt to take the initiative, resulting in a goalless 45 minutes with very few chances created.

Swarthmoor were under a lot of pressure for the first 15 minutes of the second half but Rovers struggled to create any clear-cut chances. The home side then took the lead from a Josh Price header, and doubled their advantage two minutes later through Phil Edmondson.

The outstanding Rikki Gallagher then scored two goals in quick succession to make it 4-0 and make sure of the points.

Without a recognised goalkeeper, Swarthmoor called up Joe Wilkinson to fill in between the sticks and he had a very good game with a clean sheet.
