THREE Barrow footballing favourites are in the running for top regional awards.

Star striker Georgia Stanway has been nominated for the Female Rising Star of the Year prize in in the coveted 2016 MBNA Northwest Football Awards.

Barrovian Stanway, who has consistently produced dynamic performances in Manchester City and England under-17s colours, is no stranger to personal honours, having won the Junior Personality of the Year award at last year's Cumbria Sports Awards.

Also in contention for an MBNA award is Barrow AFC skipper Danny Livesey who is shortlisted for National League player of the year, while his Bluebirds team-mate Jordan Williams has been put forward for the Rising Star of the Year award.

Livesey is up against some tough competition, in the shape of one-time AFC keeper Tim Deasy (Altrincham) Chester's Ben Heneghan, George Pilkington of Macclesfield and Tranmere's James Norwood.

The awards feature some of the hottest talents in the Premier League - with all nominated players now needing the backing of their North West fans to vote for them ahead of this year’s glitzy, black tie awards ceremony at the Point, Emirates Old Trafford on Monday November 14.

Voting for all Player of the Year and Rising Star Award categories is open until noon on Friday October 21. Fans can cast their votes and view the full list of nominations at northwestfootballawards.com/vote/
