A LAST-gasp winner from Carl Waters ensured Millom bounced straight back from defeat at the weekend to pick up three points against GSK Ulverston Rangers in Tuesday evening's West Lancashire League Division One clash.

It was not a straight forward win for Danny Pattinson’s side as they had to come from behind, winning 2-1 with the last kick of the game.

GSK took the lead, in a first half in which they were the better side through Jack Gardner, but Millom picked themselves up in the second period and were rewarded when Jamie Pattinson equalised in the final minutes.

Millom then won a free kick in injury time and up stepped club record scorer Waters to seal the win.

Askam registered their first win of the season with a 3-0 win over Milnthorpe Corinthians. Connor Rowlings, Brad Jackson and Dec Baines the scorers. Meanwhile, in the Premier Division, Vickerstown lost 5-0 away at Whitehaven.

One Furness Premier League Fixture took place and Croftlands Park kept up their 100 per cent record with a 2-1 win away at Dalton United reserves.

Frazer Shand scored for Dalton in the first minute. Croftlands were another team leaving it late and Matt Dean scored both their goals in injury time.

The FPL took centre stage on Wednesday with all the remaining teams in action. Walney Island reserves picked up their first win with a 4-0 win against Furness Cavaliers reserves – Connor Carson (2) Luca Fleming and Jack Westall with the goals.

Vickerstown reserves are one place behind Hawcoat on goal difference after a 4-2 over Swarthmoor, where Kev Bahamrenesh was the star of the show with a hat-trick and Max Green added to his tally for the season so far. Pete Spence and Matty Gregg replied for Swarthmoor.

Holker Old Boys reserves defeated Barrow Celtic 5-0 under the lights at Rakesmoor Lane. Brandon Collins (3) Tom Heywood and Robbie Wallace were the Holker scorers.

The FPL Division One and Division Two clubs get their seasons under way this weekend, with Divsion Two champions Croftlands Park reserves travelling to last season's Division One runners-up Hawcoat Park A.

Meanwhile, Coniston begin life back in Division Two tonight (kick-off 6.30pm) with a trip to Wanderers' reserves and relegated Haverigg reserves aim to get the campaign off to a good start away to Holker Old Boys A.

Holker's senior side are still searching for their first win of the season in the North West Counties League Division One North, having begun with three straight defeats.

However, their previous two games have only seen Holker edged out by the odd goal and tomorrow sees Guy Heffernan's team aiming to end that run on the road when they travel to Nelson.

In the West Lancashire League, early Division One pace-setters Hawcoat will aim to make it four wins from four at home to Milnthorpe Corinthians - both of whose wins so far have come away from their own patch.

Crooklands Casuals and GSK Ulverston Rangers go head-to-head in a derby clash, and Askam will aim to build on their first win of the campaign when they head to second-placed Leyland United.

Furness Rovers will be targeting three wins from three in Division Two when they host Garstang reserves.
