AIMEE Everett has been confirmed as one of the players included in the 20-player England squad for this summer's UEFA Women's Under-17s Championship in Lithuania.

The Barrow teenager, who plays her club football for Liverpool, was part of the team which went through both qualifying rounds unbeaten to become one of the eight teams to reach the final stages.

Everett has been a mainstay of manager John Griffiths' squad since those first matches and will now have the opportunity to impress of the big stage this month.

England are in Group B and the Young Lionesses kick off their campaign against Poland on May 9, followed by Spain on May 12 and Italy on May 15.

Group A comprises Germany, the Netherlands, Finland and hosts Lithuania, with the top two teams in each group going through to the semi-finals.

“It's brilliant that we made it through,” said Everett, speaking after England had made certain of their place at the tournament in the final qualifiers. “Now we believe we can go on to win it.

“We've knocked out Norway, who are a big team, tough opponents, and we're through to the final eight, so we believe we can go on and do it.

“We all believe in ourselves to do that. As soon as we've qualified, we've all thought 'we can do this'.”
