AIMEE Everett is playing her part in helping England under-17s to Euro glory – cheering from the sidelines.
The Barrow teenager has unluckily been ruled out of the UEFA Women's Under-17s Championship through injury, but has stayed in Lithuania to support her team-mates.
England take on Germany tomorrow in the semi-finals with a place in the final against Spain or Finland at stake.
Everett was part of the Young Lionesses team who went through both qualifying rounds unbeaten to become one of the eight teams to reach the final stages.
The Liverpool player has been a mainstay of manager John Griffiths' squad since those first matches and was hoping for the chance to impress on the big stage, until she suffered a fractured hip in the build-up to the tournament.
“Aimee fractured her hip whilst out here so hasn't been able to play,” said Aimee's mum Andrea Hodgson, who is in Lithuiania with her daughter and her step-dad Ronnie Hodgson.
“We are all gutted for her as she's worked so hard to be here.
“She was obviously devastated but has stayed out in Lithuania recovering. I am here with her as well as her step dad so we are looking after her now.”
England began their tournament with a 2-2 draw against Poland. A 2-1 defeat to Spain meant the pressure was on ahead of their final group match against Italy, but they responded magnificently with a 4-0 victory to book their semi-final place.
