WALNEY Island have not had to travel far but still had a difficult start to life in West Lancashire Division Two.

They lost 4-1 away to Askam on the opening Saturday and then went down 3-1 at home to Furness Cavaliers last weekend.
The Islanders face yet another derby game tomorrow when they venture across Jubilee Bridge en route to play GSK Ulverston Rangers. The hosts opened up with a 5-0 home win over Lancs Constabulary and then had a 3-3 draw away to Lytham Town so it will be no easy task for the new boys.
Furness Cavaliers are looking to push for promotion this campaign, having already thumped Lytham 8-0 ahead of the Walney win.
They are expecting the usual battle royale at Rampside Road against Mill Hill St Peters tomorrow.
Cavs manager Dave Staunton names the same 14 as last weekend although Mike Robinson has a back injury, while Andrew Oxley is in contention for a start after scoring six for the reserves midweek.
Askam, 1-0 losers at Mill Hill last weekend, are also at home in West Lancs Division Two tomorrow against Springfield.
Manager Mike Brown says that, with cricket and holidays, they will again be fielding a youngish team, teenage defender Ryan Baines having made his debut last week.
l Holker OB are without a game as it is the 2nd qualifying round of the FA Cup.
