Cricket teams bat in the old routine

LOCAL cricket gets into full swing this week with the Furness Cricket Association season starting tomorrow, and the North Lancs and Cumbria League following suit on Saturday.

CRICKET

The opening round of fixtures in both competitions are as follows.

Tomorrow: Furness Cricket Association (6.30pm): Barrow v Furness Hospitals, Furness v Vickerstown, Hawcoat Park v Furness Taverners, Lindal Moor v Duddon SC; Dalton CC – off.

Saturday: North Lancs Premier Division (1pm start): Carlisle v Cleator (M Smith and D Beebe); Haverigg v Furness (D Pickerill and E Gardiner); Keswick v Whitehaven (B McDowell and A Hewitt); Millom v Workington (M Askew and A Mason); Penrith v Duddon SC (A D’Leny and B Nixon); Wigton v Cockermouth (R Blair and S Hulse).

Division One: Cleator A v Seascale ( I McDonald and E Smith); Dalton v Ulverston (G Thomas and D Cubiss); Kirkby v Appleby Eden (L Saunders and B Clarke); Lindal Moor v Lanercost (E Payne and P Wilkinson); Vickerstown v Hawcoat Park (P Fieldhouse and D Savage); Workington A v Millom A (L Rowe and J Cartmell.

Division Two: Duddon SC v Penrith (B Blackburn and A Regan); Furness v Haverigg (W Cook and T Atkinson); Hawcoat Park v Vickerstown (L Medhurst and S Haworth); Ulverston v Dalton (G Griffith and E Robinson); Whitehaven v Egremont (C Taylor and Colin Westgarth); Windscale v Lindal Moor (E Ford and A Lamb).
