HAVERIGG kept up the pressure at the top of the North Lancs and Cumbria League Division One with a six-wicket win over Ulverston.

Thomas Hawdon took 4 for 33 and Jordan Postlethwaite 3 for 12 as the home side were dismissed for 95 in 39 overs at Priory Road on Saturday.

Ben Dryden top scored with a defiant 45.

Haverigg reached a winning total of 99 for 4 in the 23rd over, with skipper Drew Postlethwaite making 31.

Choosing to bat first against Lindal Moor, Millom lost both openers cheaply, but they made an excellent recovery.

Professional Sameera Sadamal made 79 with three fours and three sixes, and Danny Fallows scored 68 with eight fours and three sixes, and after 50 overs they were 241 for 8.

Lindal's veteran spinner, John Atkinson took 4 for 77 in his 15 overs.

Moor soon lost three wickets, but Lee Hogg was unbeaten on 109, (10 fours and 5 sixes) and alongside Sam Beckman, with 40, they made a good recovery.

The visitors reached 197 for 9 after 50 overs. Millom's Graham Dawson returned 4 for 17 in eleven overs.

Vickerstown decided to bat against Workington seconds and with opener Sam Dixon carrying his bat for 64, and John Burns smashing 67 runs off 67 balls, with eight fours and a six, the Rainey Park side were 175 for 4 when the overs ran out.

Workington were never up to the run-rate needed. Grant Reid top scored with 52 but the West Cumbrians were 149 all out.

Vickerstown skipper Gareth Benson took 6 for 41 in 15 overs and George Scott 3 for 32 in 13 overs.

Seascale put Whitehaven in and were made to work hard by the Whitehaven top order. Dom Chambers led the way with 58, and with Mohammad Yasin making 43, Jonathan Stewart, 40, and Stephen Holliday 38, the home side were 244 for 5 at tea.

In reply Seascale'sn Adam Brown made 61, but no-one else reached 20, and Seascale were 143 all out in the 42nd over.

Whitehaven's Stephen Holliday bowled well to take 6 for 30 in 13 overs.

Furness kept up the pressure on leaders Workington in the Premier Division.

Put into bat at home to Cockermouth, Furness batted well all down the order to be 310 for 6 in their 50 overs.

Mark Daly made 85, (six fours and five sixes) Sam Dutton, 69, and Kiwi professional Seth Rance an unbeaten 60. Chris Hodgson took 3 for 60 in his 15 overs.

Cockermouth also enjoyed the Furness Park track, but couldn't maintain the run rate needed, and were 262 for 9 when overs ran out.

Alex Grainger, with 60 and Matthew Sempill 54, were the main contributors. Reliable Furness opening bowler Pete Lawson took 4 for 78 in 13 overs.

Cleator had first knock against Dalton and were indebted to Darren Clark who made 53 out of the 183 for 9 total in 50 overs. In reply Dalton were all out for 109, Dave Rooney taking 4 for 41, James Rogers, 3 for 11, and Darren Clark 3 for 51.

Winning the toss and batting at home to Wigton, Workington were 246 for 8 at tea, Callum Moffat making 78 and Greg Platten 67.

In reply Wigton were all out in the 17th over for a mere 22. Andrew Ireland returned incredible figures of nine for five in 8.2 overs, with four maidens.

Previously unbeaten Division Two leaders Furness were at Cockermouth and batting first were to be surprisingly all out for 104 and the home side cruised to an easy win making 107 for 1 in 27.1 overs.

Put into bat at Hawcoat Park, Egremont had a day to forget as they slumped to 69 all out in 25 overs, having no answer to Callum Muncaster who took 7 for 32 in 10 overs.

In reply, Peter Thompson with 33 and Ross Parker, 23, ensured the Hawcoat Park win with 71 for 2 in the 13th over.

Vickerstown A were in first at Egremont A in their third division match and were all out for 51 in 26 overs.

Luke Williams took 5 for 12 in six overs and Matthew Lancaster, 3 for 11 in ten overs. Egremont won in the 22nd over at 54 for 4. Lindal Moor A had a bad day in their home game with Millom. Put in to bat the Moor were always in trouble and were all out in the 30th over for only 84. Millom's Luke Ivison took 3 for 13 and Robert Thompson 3 for 18. Millom went to an easy win making 86 without loss in 16.2 overs, Robert Thompson 50 not out, and Dominic Heasley 32 not out.
