RECORDS tumbled at Pennington Lane as Lindal Moor beat a near-100-year-old mark in the North Lancs and Cumbria League.
Moor crushed Vickerstown by 304 runs as they scored 426 for 6 – the highest total in any league or cup match in North Lancs history.
It beat the previous record of 414 for 7, scored by Millom on the 1923 Higson Cup.
The men responsible for the mammoth score were professional Kenroy Peters and captain Ed Waind, who put on 325 for the third wicket.
Waind scored 116 off 110 balls, but it was Peters who set an individual league record, pummelling 233 off 112 balls – another new mark in all league and cup games. The previous best was the 215 scored by Workington's Simon Beare in the 2005 Higson Cup final.
Vickerstown had a poor day with the bat to be all out for 122 in 38 overs, Craig Crawford taking 6 for 41 in his 15 overs.
