Pennington Lane hosts finals day on Sunday, with North Lancs and Cumbria League Division One side Lindal looking to knock out Premier Division Furness.
The teams have been paired at the semi-final stage, with Dalton taking on Millom in another Premier versus first division battle in the other last-four encounter.
Furness have ruled the competition in recent years and are favourites to triumph again. The won it for an unprecedented fifth time in six years last summer when they dominated finals day on the own patch – beating Dalton in the semi-finals and then Lindal by ten wickets in the final.
However, on home turf and with dangerous West Indian professional Kenroy Peters able to win a match on his own with bat or ball, Ed Waind’s Lindal outfit certainly cannot be discounted. They reached the finals of both the Twenty20 and Higson Cups last season, and would love to go one better this season and win some silverware.
In the other half of the draw both Dalton and Millom also have the firepower needed to take the trophy, so it all adds up to being an entertaining tournament with everything to play for.
It should be a cracking day for players and supporters alike, with Browns Quality Meats of Lindal serving up quality food from the barbecue, and the bar and outside bottle bar open all day.
