ASPIRING young cricketers got a thrill when Lancashire and England Lions ace Liam Livingstone paid them a visit.

Livingstone returned to his former club Barrow CC last weekend while on a visit home for his dad Steve’s birthday.

And the 22-year-old – who scored a quickfire 64 for England Lions in their defeat of Pakistan A last week – took time out to have his picture taken with wide-eyed Ernest Pass youngsters and support the second team.

Club servant Ray Mowat said: “Liam came home for his dad’s birthday and made time to come up the club to catch up with the lads and give the seconds some support.”

“Liam had his picture taken with junior age group players hoping to emulate him on the pathway to Lancashire and England (those being Hadley Tunstall, Lewis Bayman, Michael Voy and Sam Williamson).

“Liam kindly donated his T20 Blast final shirt which he won last year with Lancashire, which is a very generous gesture and it is now proudly displayed in the bar.

“The club are rightly very proud of Liam’s achievements and the players and members send him their sincere thanks and best wishes for continued success.

“Liam has adjusted really well to life at Lancashire and is now embracing the next challenge with his experiences with England Lions.”

The club have arranged a Q&A evening with West Indies legend Curtly Ambrose on Friday August 19. Admission is by ticket and can be booked via the club on 825201.
