IT was an early finish at Poolside as Haverigg made short work of visitors Vickerstown in their North Lancs League Division One match.

Vickerstown batted first but lost wickets regularly to be all out for 47.

Tomas Hawdon returned 4 for 13, Jordan Postlethwate, 3 for 1, and Liam Ford, 3 for 16. Ford also took four catches. In reply Haverigg won in 8.1 overs with 48 for 1, Joe Harvey unbeaten on 30.

Put into bat, Seascale were always struggling against the Millom attack to be all out for 73. Graham Dawson took 5 for 30 in 12 overs. The leaders wasted no time making 75 for 3 in the 16th over, skipper Danny Fallows top scoring with 33.

In first at Lindal Moor, Whitehaven lost both openers cheaply, but a stand between professional Mohammad Yasin, 95, with 12 fours and 4 sixes, and skipper Jonathan Stewart, 68 with 6 fours and 3 sixes, put Whitehaven on top, and the visitors were 231 all out in the 50th over. Lindal Moor pro Kenroy Peters returned 6 for 52 in 14.2 overs.

The Moor’s batting was very disappointing, with only one player getting past 20, and the side were all out in the 29th over for 90. Habib Baloch, 6 for 47, and Yasin, 4 for 42, bowled unchanged, to gain 10 vital points.

An under-strength Ulverston side won the toss and batted first at Workington A and were all out in the 37th over for 93. Workington A went to the win in the 23rd over, skipper Liam Hazzard making an unbeaten 60 in his side’s 94 for 4.

Furness’ hopes of catching up to leaders Workington in the Premier Division were dealt another blow because of the weather as Keswick’s ground was deemed unplayable.

Workington took full advantage as they disposed of Dalton. Taking first knock, Workington, mainly due to Kris Moffat’s 63, and Rob Lambert’s 53, were 192 for 8 in their 50 overs. After tea Dalton’s batting was below par, and they struggled to 136 all out in the 47th over.

A low scoring game at Cockermouth where the home side batted first and would not be very happy at tea being all out for 133, of which Alex Grainger made 62. In reply Carlisle were all out for 88, Chris Hodgson taking 5 for 33 in 14 overs.

Winning the toss Cleator decided to bat against Wigton, but made a poor start. Darren Clark started a recovery but after he was run out for 36, Cleator were 149 for 8 when overs ran out. Wigton’s Mike Slack took 3 for 36 in his 15 overs.

Wigton soon lost a wicket but opener Slack held the innings together making 74 not out, with seven fours and a six, and saw his side to 152 for 3 in the 44th over.

After a good start in their Division Two match at Cleator, Hawcoat Park’s lower order had a bad day and the side were all out for 122 in the 41st over.

In reply despite opening batsman Steven Wishart’s 45 not out and 25 from Tom Green, Cleator were all out for 99 in 37 overs. Callum Lucas, 4 for 27, and Callum Muncaster, 4 for 34, did the damage.

Cockermouth A were in first against Kirkby and were always in trouble against the Kirkby attack. Pat McCormack took 3 for 7 in 7 overs and the Etchells brothers each bowled their allocated 15 overs, Mark taking 2 for 21 and Mike 2 for 29 as Cockermouth were 88 all out in the 49th over.

Kirkby were always on top with the bat, and won in the 32nd over scoring 91 for 1. Rob Fugler, 44 not out and Paul Fugler, 30 not out, saw their side to the 10 points.

At home to Haverigg in their Division Three match, the Vickerstown side were 83 for 7 in their 40 overs. Haverigg made 84 for 7 to win in the 30th over. While on a visit home, Vickerstown’s evergreen 70-year-old, Alge Coombe took 3 for 16, as did Bryan Jones, who is in his sixties.

Whitehaven chose to bat against Lindal A and with opener Raghavendra Kurkal carrying his bat for 58 and good support from Callum Lofthouse with 42 not out, the home side were 150 for 6 when overs ran out.

Lindal Moor’s Jono Edwards took 4 for 23 in his 10 overs. Moor’s batting was poor and they were all out for 67 in the 34th over.

Skipper Toby Mowat top scored with 44 as Barrow managed a winning draw at Penrith in the Northern League Division One.

Openers Ryan Gilmour, with 44, and Jamie Pinfold, with 26, were also in the runs as Barrow made 175 for 9 in their 50 overs.

Penrith were restricted to 133 for 8 in reply as Mowat (3 for 30) Daryl Wearing (2 for 28) and Gary Collins (2 for 26) led the assault for Barrow.

Barrow A were bowled out for 81 and lost to Penrith seconds by two wickets at Ernest Pass, Dan Adams taking 3 for 17 and Ben Carr 3 for 26 for the home side.
