The 26-year-old all-rounder, from St Lucia, enjoyed a fantastic first summer at Poolside, smashing 1,203 league runs at an average of almost 86 as Haverigg finished third in the first division.
That gigantic runs tally saw Polius beat the previous Division One record for league runs in a season, of 1,185, set by Penrith’s popular former Sri Lankan professional Upul Fernando in 2005.
Polius also contributed with the ball, claiming 37 league wickets at an average of 14.49 with his off-spin, and there are high hopes he can lead Haverigg back to the Premier Division this summer.
“We are thrilled to have Dalton back for the 2017 season,” said Haverigg captain Drew Postlethwaite, of the former West Indies under-19s ace, who plays for the Windward Islands.
“Our aim for this season is promotion and we know we have the ideal professional to help us achieve this. He’s a class act.
“He’s also really bought into what we are trying to achieve as a club. Everyone is delighted and invigorated knowing Dalti will be playing for us once again this coming season.”
“It’s extremely exciting to have Dalti back for 2017,” added Drew’s brother Jordan, a regular Haverigg first-teamer and committee member.
“He showed everyone how much of a quality player he is last season and he’s a top quality guy who mixes well and contributes immensely off the field.”
