The day coincides with the 90th anniversary of Barrow being based at their Abbey Road venue.
Barrow’s association with the Ernest Pass Memorial Ground dates back to the First World War, with the ground being bequeathed to the club by the family of the late Lieutenant Ernest Pass, who was killed in action on the Somme in 1917.
And 90 years on, cricket is still being played at the old ground, with Fleetwood tomorrow’s visitors in a Northern League Division One clash.
Club servant Ged Croskery explained: “The Pass family had this piece of land cleared and levelled and presented to Barrow CC in 1927 as a memorial to their son, and we have played there from that time, which is 90 years this year.
“We are hoping to get former (and even future) players up the club to celebrate this anniversary.”
Having suffered a dip in form in recent weeks, Barrow earned a welcome victory last weekend with a six-wicket win at Lancaster.
Sam Henderson, who has not played much first-team cricket season, took his chance with an inspired spell of eight for 47 as the home side were restricted to 146.
A captain’s knock of 38 from Toby Mowat and 37 from opener Dean Williams helped Barrow surpass that total at 150 for 6.
