BARROW’s troubles continued in the Northern League as they were bowled out for 60 at Preston.

Batting first at West Cliff, the home side made 156 all out, being dismissed in the final over of the 50 overs-per-side clash. Greg Reynolds was the pick of the Barrow bowlers with 4 for 16. Sam Henderson, Gary Collins and Daryl Wearing all took two wickets apiece.

The Barrow innings was destroyed by Lukman Vahaluwala, with 5 for 34, and Andrew Starkie, 5 for 19, as only Jamie Pinfold (19) and Tom Penny (10) reached double figures.

Barrow lie second from bottom in the Northern League Division One.

Three wickets apiece for Paul Riley and Paul Bayman couldn’t prevent Division two bottom club Barrow A from losing to Preston A at Ernest Pass, after the home side were dismissed for just 57. The visitors reached their target with three wickets intact.
