BARROW CC's Northern League season has been put on hold for an extra week.
The Ernest Pass side were due to travel to Blackpool tomorrow for the first match of the season, with the seconds hosting Blackpool A.
However, the Northern League executive have decided to postpone all matches across the two divisions as many clubs are still battling to have pitches ready following the exceptionally wet winter and spring.
Barrow CC's Daryl Wearing, said: “A decision was made by the clubs and the Northern League executive that, due to the fact that many grounds are struggling to be ready due to the weather we have had across the region recently – and with the forecast being poor – the first round of fixtures have been postponed and will be rearranged.”
Barrow's season will now start at home to Fleetwood next weekend.
