Walney Park clinch Furness Division Three crown

The Park side knew they needed nine points to clinch the title after Lindal A were beaten 8-6 by Barrow Island.

John Whittall, Keith Dixon, Jeff McDougal and merit winner Mark Howard all won comfortably to single figures.

Co-op A took the Division Three crown after a 10-5 victory at Walney Park B.

John Atkinson, Les Vickers and Peter Phizacklea were the pick of the away side's winners.

King Alfred B finished second to gain promotion to Division Two.

Lindal finished their Division One title defence with a 13-1 home success against Roose.

Simon Perry's 21-10 win over James Duffin ensured he took the divisional merit after Darren Naylor suffered a 21-7 defeat at the hands of Stewart Turnbull.

The Furness League play-offs take place on Sunday.

The league reminds all players that BCGBA dress code applies. Anyone not adhering to this will be asked to change or will not play. There are no exceptions.
