STEVE McCormack expects his entire squad to get a run-out when Scotland take on a Cumbria Select XIII in Liam Harrison's testimonial tonight.

Former Barrow Raiders head coach McCormack is preparing his side for their first Ladbrokes Four Nations campaign, which begins against Australia at Hull Kingston Rovers' KC Lightstream Stadium a week today.

That means the likes of Super League players Danny Brough, Ryan Brierley, Lewis Tierney and Matty Russell, plus new St Helens signing Luke Donald and a host of other players with NRL experience are likely to take to the field at Craven Park.

“I intend giving everyone some game time as it’s our only chance to see combinations in action before the Australia game,” said McCormack.

“Training is not the same as playing, so it’s important we see if we can transfer what we’ve worked on in training this week onto the field. We’ve quite a few lads who’ve not played for a month either, so they need some game time.

“One or two others played in the Grand Final or Championship finals so are just easing themselves back into action this week, but they’ll get some minutes too.”

Among the other familiar faces to Barrow rugby fans in the Scotland squad will be Ben Hellewell and Adam Walker, both of whom had loan spells with the Raiders early in their careers.

Prop Walker made 16 appearances for the Raiders while on loan from former side Huddersfield Giants in 2011, while back Hellewell featured six times and scored three tries during his loan from Warrington Wolves in 2013.

There are other Cumbrian connections in the side too, with Workington Town brothers Callum and Brett Phillips set to come up against four of their current team-mates, and former Whitehaven loanee Sam Brooks.

The Bravehearts have been preparing for this match at Heriot-Watt University's Oriam Performance Centre and will relocate to Preston ahead of their opener against the Australians.

Scotland also return to Cumbria for the final group match of the Four Nations when they face New Zealand at Workington's Derwent Park on Friday, November 11.
