BARROW Raiders will travel to amateurs Rochdale Mayfield in the first round of the 2017 League One Cup.

Paul Crarey's side were drawn against the National Conference League outfit in last night's draw, broadcast live on BBC Radio Leeds, with the tie set to take place over the weekend of February 18 and 19.

It is the second year in a row the Raiders have been drawn away to a side from Rochdale, having played the town's professional side, the Hornets, at this stage in 2016.

Mayfield finished sixth in the NCL Premier Division this year and qualified for this competition after beating Hunslet Club Parkside 24-20 in the final of the Conference Challenge Trophy.

Next year's League One Cup is again split into two regionalised pools, with the winners from the eight first round ties progressing through to the quarter-finals.

The final is at Bloomfield Road in Blackpool on Saturday, May 27 and will be played as the opening match of the Kingstone Press Championship's Summer Bash weekend.
