MATTY Holmes has become the fifth Barrow Raiders player to agree to stay with the club for the 2017 season.
The second-rower joins fellow former Walney Central amateur Danny Morrow, Matty While, captain Oliver Wilkes and Ryan Fieldhouse in agreeing to remain at Craven Park to help Raiders push for promotion from Kingstone Press League One.
Another of the players recruited by head coach Paul Crarey from the area's amateur clubs, Holmes' first season at Barrow saw him make six starts and a further five appearances off the interchange bench, scoring two tries.
He has now taken up the option of a second year on his contract with Raiders and will be aiming to compete for a regular starting spot next year.
