JAMIE Dallimore shone on a grey day as Barrow Raiders made it two wins from two in the Kingstone Press League One Super Eights with a 14-10 triumph over Doncaster at Craven Park.

Stand-off Dallimore scored a superb individual try, plus kicked two conversions and a penalty in an impressive display.

It was another strong team performance from the Raiders too and aside from falling behind early on and a try in the second half after a period on the back foot, their defence was at its imperious best to keep Doncaster at bay.

Barrow made a strong start to the match, but it was the visitors who took the lead with their first meaningful attack of the game when Brad England powered his way over for a try out wide converted by Ricky Miller following a penalty.

It was handling errors in the wet weather which then proved costly for the Raiders despite having the lion's share of both the possession and territory. Indeed, the closest they came in the opening quarter was when Brett Carter was tackled into touch following a spell of pressure.

Defensively though, Barrow were able to repel everything else Doncaster were throwing at them and a moment of individual magic from Jamie Dallimore, darting through the defence and evading several would-be tacklers to score from 40 metres out along with converting, got them back on level terms after half an hour.

The rest of the half proved something of a tit-for-tat affair with neither team able to seize an advantage before the hooter sounded to signal the interval.

The close-fought nature continued when play resumed and although Lewis Charnock missed a penalty from 30 metres out on 43 minutes, his half-back partner Dallimore obliged by landing a kick from a similar distance five minutes later.

The pair were involved in the build up for Barrow's second try on 52 minutes, moving the ball for Dan Toal who in turn found Eze Harper, with the centre stepping and then flicking a pass out to winger Carter for him to score in the corner followed by Dallimore landing the conversion.

Doncaster did hit back following a long spell of pressure 10 minutes from time when Miller dived on a loose ball, but he was unable to convert and the Raiders saw out the match to seal the win in the driving rain.
