THE goal-kicking of Lewis Charnock and Jamie Dallimore helped Barrow Raiders to a 20-10 victory away to London Skolars in a close-fought Kingstone Press League One encounter on Saturday afternoon.
Skolars took the lead through Lamon Bryan, with Jy-mel Coleman kicking the conversion, but the Raiders were level on 21 minutes when Tom Walker got over and scrum-half Charnock – back in the team after a week off – booted the extras.
An unconverted score for Josh Alinson saw the home side push back in front, yet Barrow took the lead through Nathan Mossop scoring and Charnock again landing the conversion.
Charnock then kicked a penalty eight minutes before the break to edge the visitors further in front, although there was some controversy at the break when the referee blew up for half time before the hooter had sounded.
Nevertheless, the Raiders held their nerve to seal the win after the interval, with Charnock kicking another penalty and two more from stand-off Dallimore making certain of another crucial two points in the race for a top-three place.
