BARROW Raiders' nine-game winning run came to an end in their final Kingstone Press League One Super Eights game as they were beaten 44-22 away to undefeated leaders Toulouse Olympique on Saturday evening.

The Raiders are already assured of a place in the play-offs, but must now wait on the result of the Sunday afternoon game between Rochdale Hornets and Hunslet Hawks to find out whether or not they will be returning to France for the championship game next weekend.

Toulouse made a flying start at Stade Ernest-Argeles as Kane Bentley, Gregory White and Kuni Minga ran in tries inside the opening 11 minutes, with Mark Kheirallah converting all three to put the home side 18 points up.

Clement Boyer then went over for another converted score before Barrow managed to break the hosts' defensive line through Eze Harper, with Chris Hankinson adding the extras.

Declan Hulme was next over for Toulouse – this time unconverted – and Chris Fleming got another for the visitors just before half time, along with converting his own score.

Liam Harrison gave Barrow hope they might be able to claw their way back into the contest with their third try, converted by Hankinson, five minutes into the second half.

But two tries from Constantine Mika sandwiched one from Cameron Pitman as Toulouse started to turn the screw, and Bastien Canet's score six minutes from time – plus two more conversions from Kheirallah – put the seal on the win for the French side.
