PAUL Crarey expects Liam Harrison to be beating a path to his door at some point in the next two weeks after making good progress with his recovery from an arm infection.

The Raiders' testimonial man was hospitalised with the infection he picked up during the win over York City Knights just under two weeks ago and was told by doctors it could take a month before he could return.

Barrow head coach Crarey is not sure whether Harrison will be able to feature in either of the two remaining Kingston Press League One Super Eights games, but knows he can expect the long-serving second row to tell him when he feels ready to play.

"He's said the swelling has gone done, but it's very sore still," said Crarey. "He's not available to play this week (against London Skolars), but he's got another week with the week off we've got and maybe we'll get him back for Keighley or Toulouse, but I don't know.

"It's down to what the doctors say. They told him it would be a month, but Liam has his own view on things and he'll play when he's ready.

"If he feels he's ready to play then he definitely will. He'll come knocking my door saying 'I'm ready', so I'm getting ready for that."

The upcoming break in the league due to the Challenge Cup final taking place over the Bank Holiday weekend also gives more time for the likes of Andrew Dawson, James Duerden and Luke Cresswell to get themselves fully fit.

And Crarey is relishing the fact that could give him a nice selection headache for the home game against Keighley Cougars on Sunday, September 4 and trip to so-far unbeaten leaders Toulouse Olympique the following Saturday.

"It's fallen right for us, really, with the injuries we've had, and the lads who've stepped in have done brilliantly," said Crarey.

"Max Wiper has come back in; He lost his place, came back in and done really well, so he's put pressure on the likes of Andy Litherland.

"The team from three or four weeks ago is not the same we're running with now, but that's part of having a healthy squad who all buy into the same thing and we've done really well."

Crarey and the his squad will no doubt be keeping an eye on tonight's top-two clash in the South of France between Toulouse and Rochdale Hornets (5pm kick-off), with the visitors going into the match aiming to maintain their two-point advantage over Barrow after going down 36-16 to York last week.

"We’re not fearful of them, we’ll go over there and play our way back into a bit of form," said Hornets coach Alan Kilshaw, adding: "We are in a bit of a dip, but it’s hard to stay up all year."

Tomorrow's Super Eights action sees fourth-placed York vying to keep up their pursuit of the Raiders when they welcome Hunslet Hawks, while the other match sees Doncaster at home to Keighley.
