STOCKPORT COUNTY 0 BARROW AFC 1 (Yussuf 13)
NEW recruit Adi Yussuf made an immediate impact for Barrow AFC with the only goal of the game at Stockport County.
The 25-year-old,whose move to the Bluebirds on a one-year deal was confirmed less than an hour before kick-off at Edgeley Park, fired home early in the first half.
He found himself in possession of the ball on the edge of the box and showed good footwork to get a yard of space and fire past Ben Hinchcliffe.
The game also saw Dave Nieskens in action for AFC after the successful trialist was confirmed as having signed a one-year deal as well.
Asa Hall went close to a second for Barrow on two occasions in the first half, first latching onto a ball played over the top, forcing Hinchcliffe into making a save, before firing wide from 18 yards,while goalkeeper Stuart Moore made a number of key saves.
Nieskens had a chance to double the lead when he got on the end of a dangerous free kick, his header going just over the bar.
