MORGAN Ferrier pounced in the 91st minute to deny Barrow AFC all three points as they were held to a draw at home to Boreham Wood in the Vanarama National League.

Loan duo Dom Smith and Ryan Yates both came back into the starting line-up, with Euan Murray and Lindon Meikle dropping to the bench, as Barrow AFC boss Paul Cox made two changes to his side as the hosts sought to maintain their unbeaten home record.

There were opportunities early on at either end, with Alex-Ray Harvey and Angelo Balanta having efforts saved by Grant Smith and Joel Dixon respectively.

Good work down the right by Byron Harrison led to a gilt-edged chance for Barrow on 16 minutes, only for his strike partner Richie Bennett to see his first-time shot go narrowly wide.

Boreham Wood stopper Smith then produced a save from point-blank range when Bennett got on the end of Moussa Diarra's header back across the box from a free kick five minutes later.

And the forward was denied again in the 27th minute when Danny Woodards managed to scramble back and head Bennett's effort from a tight angle off the line after he had burst down the right.

Harvey was unable to make the most of an opportunity two minutes before the break either after winning possession in midfield.

Boreham Wood were not without chances either, with Woodards firing into the side-netting from a corner and Aaron Kuhl shooting narrowly wide on a counter-attack and having a header blocked by Danny Livesey.

But neither side could get that final finish as the sides went in at half time with nothing to choose between them.

Boreham Wood had the better of the chances early in the second half, with Dixon doing well to tip away a shot from 35 yards from Conor Clifford and then getting down to palm away Balanta's effort after he was picked out by Kenny Davis' cross.

At the other end, Moussa Diarra was left hitting the ground in frustration after glancing a header just wide from Williams' cross.

But the deadlock was broken on 70 minutes when Harrison was brought down in the area and dusted himself down to slot home from the penalty spot, placing the ball to the left of Smith.

It seemed as if the hosts would see the game out comfortably, but Boreham Wood kept plugging away and when Ferrier was left unmarked from a corner just as the clock ticked over into added time, he gratefully seized the opportunity to earn the away side a share of the spoils.
