The impressive Moussa Diarra gave Ady Pennock’s side the perfect start, before Charlie Carter drew Woking level.
However, Barrow went into the break ahead through Jimmy Dunne , and defended resolutely to see the game out and pick up three valuable points.
It was the visitors who started with intent. Within a minute, a long throw from the left wasn’t cleared by the home defence, but Diarra’s strike from point blank range was brilliantly saved by Jojo Wollacott.
However, the towering centre back wasn’t to be denied from the resulting corner. Lewis Walters’ delivery picked out the unmarked defender, and from six yards he planted his header firmly past the keeper to give his side a second minute lead.
And Diarra nearly doubled his side’s lead just five minutes later. Again, it was a Walters corner from the left, but this time the defender saw his effort at the far post cleared off the line by Jordan Wynter.
Despite that, it was Woking who drew level after 21 minutes. Joe Ward whipped in a great free-kick from the left which picked out an unmarked Charlie Carter, who headed in with the aid of the post.
Maybe the goal came against the run of play given Barrow’s early pressure, but the Bluebirds almost restored their lead a few minutes later. Calum MacDonald lined up a free-kick 25 yards out, and was only to be denied by a great save from the outstretched Wollacott.
Ady Pennock’s side then did go back in front just before the half-hour mark. MacDonald’s free-kick in was met by Dunne at the far post, and his header back across goal found the net via the inside of the post.
The Barrow boss was then forced into a change just before the break – Walters having to come off through injury and Harry Panayiotou coming on at left midfield.
Like the first half, Barrow started the second period looking dangerous. MacDonald whipped in an inviting ball from the left and picked out Asa Hall, whose deft glancing header produced a fine save from Wollacott.
However, the longer the half went on the hosts looked to get back into the game and had a great chance to level just before the hour. Nathan Ralph whipped in a great corner and picked out Carter, who outjumped his marker but headed just past the post.
Home boss Anthony Limbrick then rolled the dice in a bid to get level, with Jamie Philpot coming on as a second striker alongside Inih Effiong, with Joe Ward trying his luck but forcing Joel Dixon into a save at the second attempt.
Barrow then made two changes with Jordan White and Donovan Makoma coming on for cameo appearances towards the end.
At this stage, the hosts were throwing everything at Barrow, but the Bluebirds’ back four demonstrated great defending to keep them at bay.
The Cards then went close three minutes from time. Ralph’s free-kick in picked out Effiong, who saw his header deflected by Dunne, and Dixon did well to turn the ball over the bar.
There was still time for one last chance for the hosts, with Ralph’s ball in picking out Carter at the near post, but his glancing header went just past the far post.
However, Barrow saw the game out and made it five straight wins on the road under Pennock, and more importantly move seven points clear of the bottom four.

Moussa Diarra – After taking his goal well inside the opening two minutes, he not only provided a threat from set-pieces in the final third but also played his part in keeping the Cards out when they pressed late on.
