BARROW AFC are set to announce their latest new signings this week – with boss Paul Cox also in talks with a new physio and assistant manager.

A pair of players have signed paperwork with the Bluebirds, which just needs to be processed and finalised before their registration is completed.

A further recruit is in the process of signing his paperwork, with news on their identities due to be revealed in the coming days.

At least two of the trio have Football League experience.

The signings add to deals completed earlier in the close-season for former Wrexham attacker Jordan White, and ex-Blackburn Under-21s captain and Witton Albion midfielder Bradley Bauress.

Talks are ongoing with further targets, with the aim to build up the majority of a squad of 22 on permanent contracts by the start of pre-season next week.

Cox currently has 10 players signed on to deals, with goalkeeper Joel Dixon and defensive midfielder Andy Parry also invited back to try and earn contracts.

Ross Hannah, Jordan Williams and Paul Turnbull have all departed Holker Street over the last month – Williams to League One Rochdale for a Barrow club record fee and the other two men to Chester – while the club rejected an initial bid for full-back Nick Anderton.

Off the pitch, the Barrow boss has identified his preferred options to replace departed assistant boss Gary Simpson and physio Sean Riley – the latter of whom has joined AFC Fylde.

Cox wants that pair in place before the start of the season as well.
