BARROW AFC face a potential FA Trophy third-round tie against Sutton United,

The Bluebirds will host Sutton should they come through their second-round replay against Brackley Town at Holker Street on Tuesday night.

Matches will be played on Saturday, February 3, with Barrow's trip to Torquay United on that weekend postponed should they go through.

It is the first time Barrow have been drawn at home in cup competition this season, having been paired with Shaw Lane in the FA Cup, and then handed trips to Nuneaton Town and Brackley in the FA Trophy.

Former Evening Mail sports reporter Brian Barwick drew the home teams on talksport2, and said before the draw took place: “It's our (non-league's) FA Cup. It's when the non-league game comes together in competition.

“It's got a history – it goes back to 1970 – and if you are still in it now, you are in it to win it, because there's a Wembley day on May 20.”

After the draw, he added: "I worked in Barrow for a while, and I always keep an eye on them. They've got to come through a tough replay though."

FA Trophy third round draw: St Albans City/Harrogate Town v Billericay Town, Maidstone United v Gateshead/Boreham Wood, Maidenhead United v Kidderminster Harriers/Stockport County, Wealdstone v Ebbsfleet United/Warrington Town, Brackley Town/Barrow AFC v Sutton United, Dover Athletic v Leyton Orient, Spennymoor Town v East Thurrock United, Weston-Super-Mare/Workington v Bromley.
