BARROW AFC have confirmed Paul Ogden remains in place as the club's head of football operations.

There were widespread rumours last week that Odgen had left the club, having only been appointed to his new role at the start of August.

However, club managing director Andrew Casson has scotched those suggestions, saying Ogden remained in place.

The former chief scout played a key role in bringing in teenage defender Jordan Thompson on loan from Coventry City last week, and is already looking for more recruits as Barrow face up to a mounting injury list.

Casson confirmed there had been a disagreement with Ogden, but put that down to miscommunication and said it was normal goings-on in any business for employees not to be 100 per cent happy all of the time.

“There is no change with Paul Ogden,” he stated. “As there generally are with most organisations, there was a bit of a of an argument, more as a result of miscommunication than anything else.

“The rumour was obviously going crazy, and I kept telling people it wasn't true. I spoke to Paul Ogden a day later, he was fine. I went to training on Friday, spoke to him there about the defenders we got and the next phase of what we need.”

Casson confirmed Ogden was scouting for players at two matches on Monday, with Barrow having suffered five injuries in the past 10 days.
