JIMMY Dunne has vowed to step up his shooting practice, after netting his first senior goal for Barrow AFC.

The 20-year-old Burnley loanee fired home for the Bluebirds in their 2-0 win over Eastleigh on Saturday.

It was a fine first goal as well, finding the top corner with a curling effort from 20 yards out after a failed clearance from the Spitfires defence.

“I don't practice the shooting so much, but I'm going to start practising even more now I know it might happen,” said Dunne.

“It's my first professional goal, and it's definitely one of the best goals I have scored.

“It happened so quick. It was the right opportunity to shoot – sometimes you can get a little bit unlucky and they don't go in, but there you go.

“It was a good time to score as well, because we were only 1-0 up and they were getting a little bit excited and a little bit of momentum. It silenced them again and it made it more comfortable again – it was good timing.”
