SUTTON UNITED 3 BARROW AFC 2

MICKY Moore's first game in permanent charge of Barrow AFC ended in defeat as a costly collapse at the start of the second half wrecked his first day in charge.

Only one win since Paul Cox quit on August 24 leaves the club looking over their shoulder in the National League.

The Bluebirds were given an early warning when Moses Emmanuel stuck their post inside the first two minutes, and it was no surprise when the hosts went ahead after 25 minutes.

Aswad Thomas' inswinging free-kick missed everyone and crept in as the left back celebrated his fist goal for Sutton.

But Moore's men got the break they needed against the run of play. Winger Bradley Bauress was floored inside the box with a number of legs going for him and Byron Harrison tucked away the penalty seven minutes before half-time.

But in what was ultimately their undoing, Barrow fell to pieces at the start of the second half. First Josh Taylor got his toe to the loose ball to force it past Joel Dixon to re-establish the lead before Emmanuel three minutes after gave the visitors a mountain to climb when they crumbled inside their own box again.

Harrison gave Barrow hope in the 62nd minute with a tap-in of his own, but Moore's team could put enough pressure on to rescue a point.
