WOKING 1 (Tubbs pen 50’) BARROW AFC 1 (Harrison 20’)

BARROW extended their unbeaten National League record to eleven games but could only draw with lowly Woking.

Byron Harrison’s eighth league goal put the Bluebirds ahead but Matt Tubbs equalised in the second half from the penalty spot.

Paul Cox made two changes to his team from last Saturday’s FA Cup win over Tranmere Rovers - in came Liam Hughes for the suspended Jordan Williams and Richie Bennett for Richie Harrison.

The first chance fell to Woking’s Gozie Ugwu, who should have shot earlier and when he did Danny Livesey did well to block his effort.

Barrow responded and after Paul Turnbull had struck a post from a free-kick, Ryan Yates crossed for Harrison to head home in the 20th minute.

Moussa Diarra was fortunate that Ugwu’s effort was off-target when he hesitated, allowing the Cards striker through on goal.

Five minutes after the restart Ugwu took a boot to the head in the area and won a penalty. Forest Green loanee Tubbs stepped up and sent Joel Dixon the wrong way.

Dixon then completely miscued a routine clearance and as Dennon Lewis connected with the loose ball, the keeper recovered to save well.

Substitute Ross Hannah’s spectacular volley was pushed away by Brandon Hall as Barrow looked for a winner.

But despite some late pressure from the Bluebirds, with Hughes volleying inches wide, the home side held on for a point.
