BARROW AFC have made it a hat-trick of signings in quick succession after landing Sutton United's Bedsente Gomis.

The 29-year-old French midfielder arrives at Holker Street hot on the heels of fellow midfielder Asa Hall and full-back Dan Jones.

Gomis has signed a one-year deal, with the option for a second, having turned down the offer of a new deal at Gander Green Lane.

The 5ft 11ins former Lens junior has spent the past three seasons with Sutton, making more than 100 appearances across all competitions – including an impressive display in their FA Cup fifth-round defeat to Premier League Arsenal earlier this year.

He has had previous spells with Spanish clubs Puertollano and Almeria, before a brief stint at Southend United, which was followed by his move to Sutton.

AFC manager Paul Cox is working hard to add further signings to his squad before pre-season training begins next week.

Gomis, Hall and Jones follow completed deals for forward Jordan White and midfielder Bradley Bauress last month, with the aim to have the majority of a squad of 22 in place by the start of pre-season.

Gomis' arrival takes the squad numbers to 13, though winger Elliot Newby has turned down the offer of a new deal to join AFC Telford United.
