GRANT Holt knows Brackley Town will be out to cause an FA Trophy upset at St James Park tomorrow.

But the Bluebirds player/coach is confident his Barrow AFC side can overcome another tricky hurdle and show why they are a division higher than their hosts (3pm kick-off).

Brackley are the second National League North side to come up against AFC in the Trophy this season. Barrow battled past Nuneaton Town in the last round thanks to a late Byron Harrison goal.

But whereas Nuneaton were among the sides battling to avoid relegation, Brackley are right in the hunt for promotion, sitting third under boss Kev in Wilkin, and having lost just three times in the league all season.

Holt recognises the talent in a team who will have a point to prove tomorrow, but is positive that the Bluebirds will be ready and up for the challenge.

“They're a good side,” said Holt. “We've had them watched, and we know a little bit about them. We know that in that division they're a part-time club paying full-time wages, but they're a good side as well.

“They've got some very good players; they took a few from Solihull last year.

“We've had them watched, we've done our homework, and we're expecting a tough task – like they all are. You look at Nuneaton when we went there, and it was a tough, tough game. These games always are.

“Times have changed from the non-league days where everyone just turned up and went to play a game, now it's very professional – lads are in three or four days a week even when they are part-time now.

“They've got some good players in and there is a lot of money being chucked around in that division. That attracts very good players.

“We know what we are expecting and what they will try to do. That's why we have people who have been watch them and their games.”

He added: “Everyone tries to take a scalp, no matter if it's the FA Cup or the FA Trophy. You look the other day at Fleetwood holding Leicester. Everyone wants to show that they are better than the division they are in. It's up to our lads to go out there and show them there is a reason we are in our division and they are in theirs.

“There is never a pressure on the team from below, the pressure is always on the team from above. We're higher and they're not, and everyone wants to show how good they can be.

“Our lads have shown they can be professional in everything they do. We've got a bunch who know that no matter what game they are playing in, we expect them to win. That will hold us in good stead.”
