NOTTINGHAM Forest attacker Lewis Walters has joined Barrow AFC on a one-month loan deal.

The 22-year-old striker or winger is a regular for Forest's Under-23s.

AFC boss Ady Pennock watched him in action against Sheffield United last week, when he scored the winner in a 2-1 victory.

A deal has been negotiated and finalised in the subsequent days.

Walters joined Forest from Leeds United in September 2016 and signed a new deal at the City Ground in the summer.

While he has been a regular feature in the under-23s team, he has yet to make his first-team breakthrough for the Reds.

Walters is expected to join his new Barrow team-mates for training on Friday, ahead of a potential debut a day later when AFC welcome Dagenham and Redbridge to Holker Street.

Walters' move follows a youth loan deal with Derby County for Calum Macdonald last week which will run until February.

Jimmy Dunne is with the Bluebirds from Premier League Burnley until January, and Grimsby Town's Chris Clements will be at AFC until the end of December.
