BLUEBIRDS boss Micky Moore says he will not be rushed into panic signings to strengthen his midfield and attack.

Moore has brought in Jordon Thompson, Paul Bignot and Tony Diagne to address a gaping hole caused by injuries to experienced centre-halves Dave Nieskens, Thierry Audel and Moussa Diarra, with all three likely to be involved in today’s match at Sutton United.

As well as making those badly-needed additions to his back-line, the newly-appointed AFC manager says he will be keeping an eye out for potential recruits in other areas of the pitch.

Moore may choose to bolster an attack which is likely to missing the injured Adi Yussuf for a few more weeks, and he will keep tabs on midfield recruits as well – but at the same time he insists he is more than happy with the players available to him. He said: “Getting a midfielder and striker in is more something we are looking at going forward, but that is more down the line – they are not pressing, as in, right here, right now.

“We will assess Adi’s injury and the length of time he is going to be out. We are looking at three to four weeks so potentially we might need someone to come in, in that position.

“In terms of midfield I am happy with what I have got at this moment in time, but that doesn’t mean to say that if something came along I wouldn’t be interested. But it’s not a pressing concern.

“Because of the amount of defenders I’ve lost, we have had to sign three defenders in seven days, which is not ideal.

“The problem at the moment is getting some stability in the team. I thought we were getting that, and then we lose Dave and then we lose Thierry and then we lose Moussa. And when you are playing three at the back and you lose all three it’s difficult, especially as they are three experienced players.”
