MICKY Moore is expecting a very tough challenge in South London tomorrow – but it is one he feels his patched-up troops can handle.

Opponents Sutton United are flying high in fourth place in the National League, and Moore has been impressed with how their manager Paul Doswell has taken the momentum of last season’s FA Cup heroics into this year’s campaign.

The U’s were knocked out of the FA Cup by Premier League Arsenal, having beaten Football League opposition in AFC Wimbledon and Leeds United on a glorious run to the last 16.

“I’ve watched quite a few of their games so I know what they are about,” said Moore.

“They had a good season last year in their first season back at this level and they have built on that.

“They had a fantastic FA Cup run last year. Yes, they have lost players since, but the club have reinvested with money they won last year and to be fair to Paul, he has got a good squad there. It doesn’t surprise me that they are up there.

“I thought they were decent last year, they’ve got a way of playing which works for them and it’s going to be a difficult game for us, there’s no two ways about it.”

Moore will have to shuffle his pack at The Knights Community Stadium, with three centre-halves, Dave Nieskens, Thierry Audel and Moussa Diarra, plus right-back Jack Barthram and striker Adi Yussuf, all out injured.

“Going there with a fully-fit squad would be a difficult fixture, and going there without your three centre-halves, your right wing-back and your centre forward – potentially five of your starting XI – makes it even more difficult,” he said.

“These are testing and challenging times for us, but we’ll go there and we’ll be structured and organised and we are going there to win a game of football. I believe in the players we have got, so let’s go for it.”
