AFC Wimbledon winger David Fitzpatrick have flown the Dons' coup to join Barrow AFC.

Fitzpatrick, 22, has signed a one year deal, with a second year option based on appearances.

The wideman has spent the past three seasons with the League One club, but has found his first-team chances limited.

He spent a spell on loan with Isthmian Premier League Tonbridge Angels in 2015 and then with National League Torquay United last season – where he made 13 league appearances, netting three times.

Fitzpatrick did not play in either encounter with the Bluebirds, but it was there that he caught the eye of manager Paul Cox.

The Londoner came through the youth systems at both Fulham and Queens Park Rangers, but left QPR before breaking into the first-team squad.

His Wimbledon debut came in December 2014, and he went on to make 13 Football League appearances for them, scoring his first goal in January 2016 against Yeovil.

He played just six times last season following his return from three months with the Gulls, before being released following the end of his contract at the start of the summer.
