INJURED Barrow AFC duo Andy Haworth and David Mellor are showing positive signs ahead of Saturday's match at Welling United.
The pair were forced from the field in Tuesday's FA Trophy defeat at FC Halifax Town having picked up knocks.
Mellor turned his ankle, while Haworth suffered a back problem, but both have made progress in training, with both Paul Cox hopeful they will be available for the weekend.
“Both of them are looking okay at the minute,” said Cox. “Both of them have responded to treatment.
“The next 24 hours will be key, but we are hopeful both might be in contention for Saturday.
“The fear when a player leaves the field of play with an injury is that it is going to be longer-term than two or three days. We will be sure over the next 24 or 48 hours.”
