BARROW AFC manager Paul Cox is talking with star striker Andy Cook about his future today.

Cox and Bluebirds owner Paul Casson spoke with the 25-goal hitman on Saturday as he ended his season with a brace against Wrexham.

An improved offer is thought to have been made to him then, following earlier discussions, with Cook given time to decide on his future.

The club hope to be able to make an announcement on whether the 26-year-old will extend his second spell at Holker Street into a third season by the end of the week.

Barrow have also confirmed that seven players are presently contracted for next season.

Danny Livesey, Jordan Williams, Joe Dixon and Andy Haworth have all featured regularly under Cox, while Ashley Grimes, Neil Ashton and David Mellor also have a year to run on their deals, but have found themselves out of the squad in recent months.
