BARROW AFC have signed Everton prospect Michael Donohue on a one-month youth loan deal.

The 18-year-old will be available to feature for the Bluebirds at Eastleigh on Saturday.

The hope is that the deal will be extended until the end of the season if the initial spell is successful.

AFC owner Paul Casson hopes the youngster will prove as big a hit at Holker Street as did former Sheffield United loan man Otis Khan.

“They’ve described him as a lively winger and we hope he is in the Otis Khan mould,” said Casson.

“The game we liked the best in recent memory was the Woking game at home (when Barrow won 2-1 in November).

“The components we lost after that game were Otis and Liam Hearn and we have been trying to get replacements for them.

“We’ve got Michael in now to hopefully help do that.”
