BARROW AFC manager Paul Cox has been named Vanarama National League manager of the month for March.

The Bluebirds boss guided his side to four wins and two draws during the month which saw them collect 14 points from a possible 18.

Cox's charges took maximum points from their home games with Altrincham and FC Halifax and at Boreham Wood and Chester FC, with the side drawing their home games with Boreham Wood and Bromley.

The great form has seen AFC pass the 50 point mark - generally regarded as guaranteeing safety from relegation.

AFC will formally present Cox with his award at Tuesday's home game against Braintree.
