BARROW AFC fans were in a positive mood when reflecting on Tuesday night’s goalless draw away to Hartlepool United in the Vanarama National League.

The Bluebirds had the chance to win the game as, following a foul on Jack Hindle by Pools goalkeeper Scott Loach, Hindle stepped up to take the penalty himself, but his effort hit the crossbar.

Despite all of the late drama, the 113 travelling fans were in good voice and retained a positive outlook going into Saturday’s home clash with Dagenham & Redbridge.

James Reid posted on AFC’s Facebook page that he “would have taken a point before the game but could have been three. Away support was superb! Bring on the Daggers!”

Charlotte White tweeted that “Barrow were the better team tonight! Such a shame we missed the penalty, as we deserved the three points…Lets keep up the form and get a win on Saturday. #BarrowAFC”

@RobertJamesLas2 further displayed positivity on the Bluebirds point against the Pools, as he tweeted: “Well done Barrow AFC, great second half. Shame we missed another penalty, but better days ahead I’m sure. What a good team!”

Meanwhile, David Carradus also added to the feeling that a point was good, but the Bluebirds should have been walking away with maximum points from Victoria Park: “A good point, but could’ve had all three”
