BARROW AFC will fear nothing and nobody as they head to London to face Leyton Orient tomorrow.

The Bluebirds travel to the capital on the back of a 2-0 defeat at FC Halifax Town on Tuesday that left boss Ian Evatt frustrated at the result but still pleased with the performance.

The loss came despite Barrow dominating possession, and Evatt put the result down to a failure to convert chances when it mattered.

That is something the team will look to put right at Brisbane Road, with the manager saying there is no need for his side to fear anything they will come up against this weekend (3pm kick-off).

“They've got some good players – as simple as that,” he said of the O's. “They've got some very experienced players who have played at a lot higher level, but we've got nothing to fear – we'll fear nobody and we'll go out there and play how we play, do what we do.

“If we do it well enough, then we'll win the game. If we don't we won't – it's that simple.”

Looking back on Tuesday's display at the Shay, he added: “The performance was excellent. Statistically we had the most possession and the most possession in an opponents' final third of any Barrow team since stats began five years ago. That shows you how much we dominated the game.

“We just got caught with two sucker punches – a sloppy goal just on half-time and then a set-piece in the last minute. Other than that, we controlled the game – we just weren't clinical and ruthless with our decisions when we got to the final third.”

He added: “We'll work hard on that – and again I can't emphasise enough that this is a new group and that we are learning on the job and progressing as weeks go on. We will get better.

“To go and do that to a side away from home, control the game and dominate the ball, create so many opportunities, is something to be very proud of.”
